- "Stranger Things" star Finn Wolfhard (Mike) addressed fans on Twitter Wednesday night.
- "I don't wanna ex-communicate anyone from this fandom, but if you are for real you will not harass my friends, or co-workers," Wolfhard wrote. "Ya'll know who you are."
- The tweets came after a series of reports of fans waiting outside the cast's hotels.
- Wolfhard, 14, continued: "Why I even have to tweet that, I don't know. Anyone who calls themselves a 'fan' and actively goes after someone for literally acting and doing their job is ridiculous. Think b4 ya type boiiii."
The young cast of "Stranger Things" has been the subject of intense attention since the debut of season two of their hit Netflix series. After a series of reports about inappropriate conduct from fans, including adults waiting outside the cast's hotel in the hopes of getting a photo or autograph, Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) spoke out on Twitter.
"I don't wanna ex-communicate anyone from this fandom, but if you are for real you will not harass my friends, or co-workers," Wolfhard wrote. "Ya'll know who you are."
Hey everybody! I don't wanna ex-communicate anyone from this fandom, but if you are for real you will not harass my friends, or co-workers. Ya'll know who you are.

He continued out, pointing out that it was a bit absurd that a 14-year-old would need to point out that harassing working actors — especially children — is unacceptable behavior.
Why I even have to tweet that, I don't know. Anyone who calls themselves a "fan" and actively goes after someone for literally acting and doing their job is ridiculous. Think b4 ya type boiiii

"Why I even have to tweet that, I don't know," Wolfhard wrote. "Anyone who calls themselves a 'fan' and actively goes after someone for literally acting and doing their job is ridiculous. Think b4 ya type boiiii."
Other "Stranger Things" fans rallied around Wolfhard's comments, agreeing that it was ridiculous to need to remind people of how not to treat young celebrities or their friends.
The fact that a child has to say this to grown-ass adults is wild https://t.co/LTEYIlR5fB

it's sad that we live in a world where a minor has to act like an adult because adults are harassing minors. https://t.co/v8tVnWokol

Really sad a kid celeb has to say this, just because of a love for acting. They're people first, public figures second. https://t.co/TOrs050U2c

He's honestly so wise beyond his years I'm so grateful with all this gross stuff in Hollywood coming out for younger stars like this! https://t.co/gkZ1hNKt61

Wolfhard has been applauded in the past for his handling of public controversies. Last month he fired his agent amid allegations of sexual abuse concerning another young actor. At a time when the ongoing Harvey Weinstein reports (and allegations being made against other powerful Hollywood men) were causing a stir, many saw Wolfhard's quick action as commendable.
